At last a book written by a person who is both a licensed contractor and lawyer. I recommend this book to anyone who is in the construction industry. The author, Gary Ransone, offers more than just business forms or contracts, he offers solid advice as to why change orders, and other paper work, are necessary as well as how to create and present them. This book, along with the "E-myth revisited", by Michael Gerber, and David Gerstel's "Running a Successful Construction Company" are the three books about business that all small business owners need to read before jumping to the next level.
I haven't completely read through the whole book but from what I have read I can see that I've gotten more than my money's worth.Seems as though you can just pick through what pertains to you with help from the author.The CD it comes with obviously is also the big selling point. You can then easily print out your legal forms.Amazon BTW was a lot less expensive than anywhere else for this book/CD
Basically, the writer is extremely knowledge in construction and law, at a minimum. He uses his life experience in different fields of expertise, and then melds them together in this instructional contract legal kit.This book is a slam dunk. Get it. The contracts are great. There's a contract in there for everything. It's all laid out, in detail how to fill out the contracts.The author explanes the reasons for the different types of contracts and much much more.I'd be surprised, if you were disappointed with it.
