The book was incredible!! I liked the way it explained how the economic motivation made such an impact on every aspect of the demographic shifts from Africa, the Americas and Europe. It explains the "3 dimensional" aspect of the triangle trade. The human motivation and how it interacts with mercantilism which evolved into what we call capitalism today. We sometimes break things down in a very simplistic manner when analyzing the slave trade. I also liked how the author explained the difference between the west African slave trade against the east African slave trade. It was also interesting seeing how humans were able to dehumanize each other to feed the economic growth of certain vested interests!! Great read!!

A gripping narrative; a fascinating drama in its own right. An author in whose writing you can expect to encounter the honesty expected of a true historian; told with perfect freshness and true scholarship.

Bought this book to educate myself a little on the African Slave Trade and I was amazed at the information revealed in this book. A great read.

It had the information I found in the book I was reading the "the Unknown Arabs" by Tariq Berry however it wasn't as informative as I thought no love lost! I will keep it my Islamic/African library!

The book was highly recommended to me by a history professor. I purchused it and now I highly recommend it! I is well written with a great amount of details and documentation.
