Lindsay King-Miller received her BA from the University of Arizona and her MFA from Naropa University. She has been writing the advice column "Ask A Queer Chick" for The Hairpin since 2011, and has contributed to Cosmopolitan.com, Bitch Magazine, Buzzfeed, The Toast, and other publications. I love this book. It's written in an easily understood and humorous way. My granddaughter is a lesbian teen and I wanted a book that addressed problems she might encounter. I don't like the title, but that's just because I don't like the word "queer". It's a generational thing. This book covers everything: coming out, questions regarding sexuality, dating, relationships. It's a great resource for parents and family too.
So many lives will be saved by this open-hearted, thorough, intelligent guide to navigating the world as a queer chick. King-Miller is quick-witted and no-nonsense, but her empathy ripples throughout every page. Every high school and college LGBTQ student union should have several copies on hand, and if you're a woman-identifying person who is exploring her identity, this is crucial reading. But really, Ask a Queer Chick is for everyone. If you're part of the book's target audience, it will be indispensable to your emotional growth and well-being. If you're not, you'll learn to be a better ally. And *everyone* will learn how to be a better human being.
A well-balanced, thoughtful resource. Written with a sense of humor but also speaking from the heart. A lot of valuable advice and information provided. Definitely geared for younger queer chicks but with something to offer anyone belonging to or supporting the LGBTQ community

I esp appreciate the bisexual chapter. It was so relieving to read through chapters and feel like I'm not alone and that my thoughts aren't completely weird. I learned so much from this read from how to be better at teaching those close to me on how to become effective allies to looking at my present situation from other perspectives and points of view.
Really clever and funny and more importantly, informative! This is a really great book for those who have just come out of the closet or have been out for years. I especially like that there is a whole chapter on bisexuality.
a lot of rambling befitting of a salon magazine. content and substance was thin... flipped through and really couldn't quite appreciate the gist of it. author should go straight to the points.
Got for my g/f's late teen daughter. She loved it.
This book had information that I already really knew . It might be better for a younger queer lady .
